Scope of This Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement applies only to information collected for recruitment purposes through Crystal Equation’s recruitment process and from other sources. The other sources might include information obtained, for example, by recruiters, on-boarding professionals, staffing agencies, and other sources. This Privacy Statement does not apply to any other site or page that Crystal Equation owns or operates. Our other sites have their own privacy policies.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
Crystal Equation’s recruiters located in the United States provide information about careers and vacancies to applicants. Crystal Equation’s recruiters collect personal information that you as an applicant voluntarily submit or personal information that you voluntarily submit for recruitment processing purposes.
Personal Information Crystal Equation Collects
If you are interested in a job at Crystal Equation, you will have the opportunity to submit additional information to Crystal Equation’s recruiters. In addition to requesting that you provide personal information, such as name and email address, you may be requested to supply additional personal information, such as employment history. Crystal Equation may use your personal information to contact you while your application for employment is pending, to send you announcements, or to request additional information as required.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information submitted to Crystal Equation’s recruiters is accurate and up-to-date. The falsification of any information, falsification of other documents that you may provide, and/or the giving of incomplete information may result in the withdrawal of any employment offer and/or immediate termination of your employment now or in the future.
Crystal Equation does not require applicants to provide sensitive personal information (e.g. data relating to gender, race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, criminal record, physical or mental health, or sexual orientation). However, to the extent any sensitive personal information is submitted with your application, you agree that such information may be used in accordance with applicable law and this Privacy Statement.
How Crystal Equation Uses Your Personal Information
Information submitted to Crystal Equation may be accessed and used by other divisions of Crystal Equation world-wide to evaluate your application for employment and for related recruiting, succession planning (i.e., evaluating applicants for positions that may currently be filled but will open up in the future), reporting and recordkeeping purposes, such as to check references or to conduct pre-employment screening. If Crystal Equation hires you, the information that you submitted and the information that Crystal Equation collects during the application process will become part of your employee personnel file and may be used to administer the employment relationship and for related reporting and recordkeeping purposes. The legal bases for this processing of your personal information include your consent, as necessary to enter into and/or perform an employment agreement with you, and as necessary for Crystal Equation’s legitimate interests in recruiting qualified personnel.
How We May Share Your Information
Crystal Equation will not sell, lease, or license your personal information to any third party. There are limited circumstances when Crystal Equation may share the information that you submit to Crystal Equation’s recruiters with third parties, most notably:
- With third-party service providers. Crystal Equation may, for example, retain a third party to help maintain and manage our databases and to assist in the recruiting process. Service providers are permitted to use your information only for the purpose(s) for which it was disclosed and in accordance with Crystal Equation’s instructions. Service providers generally will be located only in the United States or in the country where you are applying for a position;
- With other Crystal Equation affiliated companies, for recruitment, recordkeeping and/or reporting purposes;
- When required by law, such as when Crystal Equation respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, or a discovery request in civil litigation;
- If Crystal Equation believes that your actions violate applicable law, or threaten the rights, property, or safety of Crystal Equation, our users, or others;
- If Crystal Equation sells some or all of its business, Crystal Equation may disclose all of the information that it has collected about you to a purchaser or, in due diligence, to a potential purchaser, but subject to a confidentiality agreement.
Crystal Equation will make such disclosures only as permitted by applicable data protection laws.
If you are hired and your applicant information becomes part of your personnel file, Crystal Equation will provide you with a notice, where required by law, that describes how your information will be shared and otherwise processed.
Retention of Your Personal Information
United States: Please note that, if you submit an expression of interest in employment in the United States, Crystal Equation must comply with U.S. Government regulations to maintain your information. To do so, Crystal Equation will maintain your application and information concerning your expression of interest for a period of three years, unless a longer period is required by law. By submitting your resume and other expression of interest in a position in the U.S., you agree to allow Crystal Equation to maintain your information. If you are hired for a position in the United States, Crystal Equation will retain your information for the duration of the employment relationship and for the number of years thereafter specified by Crystal Equation’s data retention policy.
Outside the United States: With regard to non-U.S. applicants, the personal information submitted in connection with your application for employment with Crystal Equation will be retained in accordance with local law. Personal information submitted for applicants who are not offered employment with Crystal Equation will be retained for the duration necessary to conduct the recruitment process and/or evaluation and for one year unless a longer or shorter period is required by law. If you are hired for a position outside the United States, we will retain your information for the duration of the employment relationship and for as long thereafter as required or permitted by applicable, local law.
International Transfer of Your Personal Information
Authorized employees of Crystal Equation and/or affiliated companies at locations worldwide may have access to your personal information as part of the recruitment process. These employees may use and disclose your personal information only for recruitment purposes, and must handle that information in accordance with this Privacy Statement and applicable data protection laws. The data protection laws in the countries in which these authorized employees are located may be less stringent than the laws of your home country. You may contact us if you wish to find out more information regarding the countries in which Crystal Equation is located and from which Crystal Equation’s authorized employees may access your personal information.
Security for Your Personal Information
Crystal Equation has implemented reasonable technical and organizational measures for the purpose of protecting applicants’ personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access and against any other unlawful forms of processing. However, these measures are not absolute, and Crystal Equation cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. Your Rights With Respect to Your Personal Information
You may have the right, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to access, update, correct or delete the personal information Crystal Equation has collected about you. Residents of the European Union (“EU”): If you are an EU resident, you also have the right to restrict, or to object to the processing of, your personal data as well as the right to data portability. Subject to certain limitations, the right to data portability allows you to obtain from Crystal Equation, or to ask Crystal Equation to send to a third party, a copy of your personal information in electronic form that you provided to Crystal Equation with your consent.
Right To Object: Applicable law may provide you with the right to object to the processing of your personal information based solely on Crystal Equation’s legitimate interests. If you do object in these circumstances, Crystal Equation will stop processing your personal information unless there is an overriding, compelling reason to continue the processing or the processing is necessary to establish, pursue or defend legal claims.

Any withdrawal shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal, and Crystal Equation will continue to retain the information that you provided before you withdrew your consent for as long as allowed or required by applicable law. Please understand that if you withdraw your consent and Crystal Equation does not have an alternative, lawful basis for processing your personal data, Crystal Equation may not be able to consider your application for employment.
Equal Employment Opportunity Statement
Crystal Equation seeks to recruit and maintain individuals having the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience essential for the function the applicant is applying for and therefore enforces a thorough and fair recruitment process.
